As part of the just concluded Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the Nigerian Fallen Heroes Foundation (NFHF) held its annual “Light A Candle for a Fallen Hero” event at the Ribadu Square, in Jimeta-Yola, Adamawa State on 15th January 2017.
The “Light A Candle For a Fallen Hero” event is a platform for the ordinary Nigerians especially the youths to express their gratitude and pay their respects to the men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces for the selfless service to this great nation of ours. The theme for this year was “Becoming a Nation that Cares”
It was quite an emotional event as officers (serving and retired) shared their experiences and pictures of some of the Fallen Heroes were displayed for all to see. In attendance at the event were Brig.Gen Akinroluyo (Brigade Commander 23 Armored Brigade, Yola) and Air Cmdr. AA Kassimu (153 Base Service Group, Yola) representing the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Air staff respectively.
Also in attendance were officers from the 23 Armored Brigade, Yola, the 153 Base Service Group, Yola, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Prison Service, the Nigerian Custom Service, family members of some of the Fallen Heroes and members of the general public.
