Sergio Ramos has described reaching the milestone of 500 games for Real Madrid as “a dream come true”.
The Spain international centre-back, who turns 31 next month, reached the mark on Saturday when he led his side to a 3-1 La Liga success over Osasuna.
After the match, he took to social media to express his gratitude at being able to attain such a figure.
“500 games with Real Madrid is more than a dream come true. Thank you, everyone! I’m planning something to celebrate. Stay tuned!” he said. While we look forward to discovering what he has up his sleeve, we can reflect on a career with the Bernabeu side that has spanned 12 years since he arrived at the club from Sevilla in 2005.
In his 500 appearances, he has scored 66 times, including goals in the Champions League finals of 2014 and 2016, both of which resulted in victories.
These may be the most prestigious titles of his time with the Blancos, but he has also won three La Liga trophies, two Copa del Rey, two UEFA Super Cups and two Club World Cups.
