At least 18 people have been killed, and over 50 others injured in a car bomb on Thursday in the south of Baghdad, Iraq, medical staff reported.
The vehicle was parked in a street full of garages and used car dealers in Hayy, al-Shurtathey.
Another suicide bomber detonated a pick-up truck on Wednesday in the Sadr City suburb of the capital, killing at least nine and wounding 30. The explosion also targeted a street full of used car dealers.No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
Terrorist acts, violence, and armed conflicts killed 382 Iraqis, and wounded 908 others in January across Iraq, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq said.
The attack also came as the Iraqi security forces, backed by the anti-ISIL international coalition, are carrying out a major offensive to drive out the militants from its last major stronghold in and around Mosul.
