The Department of State Services (DSS) may have released a
chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Babatunde Gbadamosi, who was
detained on Wednesday, February 22.
Gbadamosi was in SSS detention in Abuja for over a week.
Gbadamosi’s wife, Sade was said to have confirmed that her
husband was released, on Thursday afternoon and gave thanks to God who made it
possible.
Gbadamosi, an alleged critic of President Muhammadu Buhari
and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was detained last Wednesday
after he honoured an invitation from the DSS.
He was then transferred to Abuja the same day and was held
there until his release today.
Gbadamosi’s detention drew lots of condemnation from the
camp of opposition party PDP especially from Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti
State.
The DSS was yet to reveal why Gbadamosi was detained in
the first place.
