The Williams sisters, Serena and Venus have made it to this year’s Australia Open final and will clash on Saturday for the first Grand Slam of 2016. Venus, despite dropping a set for the first time at this year’s tournament, went ahead to beat Coco Vandeweghe 6-7 6-2 6-3, while Serena demolished Lucic-Baroni 6-2 6-1 in the other semi-final game The final will be the oldest in women’s tennis history. The Williams sisters are at a combined age of 71, while the older of them, Venus becomes the oldest Grand Slam finalist since Martina Navratilova at Wimbledon in 1994. Having had their first meeting in the final in Australia in 2003, this will be the first time the pair will be meeting in a Grand Slam final since 2009.‎ 35-year-old Serena is the overwhelming favourite to win the final, as she boasts a 16-11 head-to-head record against her elder sister and has lost only once in their last eight meetings. At the semi-final post-match conference, Serena said Lucic-Baroni inspires her with what she achieved in 2017 after the two met in 1998 as teenagers. According to the American, who is back to World number one, whichever sister wins on Saturday, they have won because of what both have gone through in their careers.

The verbal war between popular US trained journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, and Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie seems to have taken another dimension.
Ms. Olunloyo has in her latest post accused the actress of having a hand in the death of the eight-year-old son of The Gambian President-elect, Adama Barrow. This is coming after Ms. Olunloyo lambasted the actress for ‘prostituting’ in the movie industry, and outside the shores of Nigeria.
She alleged that the actress was ‘paid $1.5m to wear white Muslim dictator shit garb to campaign for an alleged evil man – Jammeh.
But in a swift response, Angela had called out the single mother of three, saying she was too small to bring her down.
As the war bites deeper, Ms. Olunloyo, widely known for her daring investigations has unveiled some shocking revelations. On her Instagram page @ HNNAfrica, Ms. Olunloyo tagged the actress @realangelaokorie, saying: “Fiery allegations on the N750M #Gambia case (Part 2).
“Okorie is well aware of the ritualism behind the UNTIMELY DEATH OF #AdamaBarrow’s son and was involved.
“UNTIMELY death wishes are prominent in Okorie’s vocabulary…”
